Anyone heard of Wilson Tennis Festival?
With an estimated 60 million men and women playing the sport, tennis is touted as the ‘most popular individual sport in the world’.
True enough, the sport has gained traction in the UAE in recent years as proven by the big tennis tournaments staged here in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
In fact, we’re only a few months away before the celebrated Mubadala World Tennis Championship gets officially underway.
But before that, here’s a warm up for budding and ardent aces out there.
Zayed Sports City will be hosting the Wilson Tennis Festival on 18th October for men, women and children, and 9th November for ladies only.
What’s even greater is that it’s free and open for all to join.
Once you’re in, participants can pick the brains (or skills rather) of certified tennis coaches, test out the latest Wilson equipment, play in kids tennis stations and even set up their own matches in open courts.
There are also give-aways and prizes up for grabs plus pop up shops and inflatable castles for little ones should they get tired of swinging rackets.
The event is interactive and a fantastic way to learn and hone tennis skills.
Who knows, maybe we’re witnessing the next Serena Williams or Novak Djokovic… that’ll be amazing.
Free to join. No registration required. 4pm-8pm.
